Chromebooks are laptops that use Google’s internet-based operating system. They are most useful if one has a Gmail account but can be used with other email accounts. You must be able to sign in to your account to save any work. You cannot save anything to the Chromebook device.
Chromebooks are available to patrons for in-house use only. All users must have a library card to use one of these devices. A valid driver’s license is also acceptable.
Users have one hour per session and the devices can be renewed for more time if there is no one waiting. Patrons can call ahead to reserve a Chromebook.
Wireless printing capabilities are available.
Failure to return the Chromebook and/or damages to it will result in being billed for the replacement cost of the device — up to $200.
Reconfiguring the Chromebook is not allowed.
Patrons use at their own risk to personal data. Gunn Memorial Library is not responsible for any loss of data.
