After having been closed to the public for over a year, the Gunn Historical Museum is now open for limited hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11am-2pm. Museum volunteers have been busy working behind the scenes inventorying the collection and conducting research in preparation for the upcoming permanent Washington history exhibit. Our new one-room display in the Georgianna Middlebrook Room showcases some of their discoveries. We want to thank all of our volunteers for their helping hands and minds.
In the new display, created by the Gunn Museum’s Exhibition Committee, the community is invited to view and participate in the planning process of the upcoming permanent Washington history exhibit, while enjoying a retrospective display of past exhibits. Share your stories, objects, and photographs of the people, places, and events that gave rise to the unique town we know today. We look forward to hearing your favorite Washington memories. Let us know which topics you think should be included in a permanent exhibit about the history of Washington, Connecticut.
